The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Sanitation and Water Resources, John Kwabena Oti Bless, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Nkwanta North, has stated that his committee has been properly briefed on the challenges confronting the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) agreement and the various MMDCEs.
This follows the committee’s engagement with the leadership of the YEA on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
He explained that during the committee’s verification and monitoring visits to some MMDCEs, several issues emerged concerning the YEA model and its implementation. As a result, the committee decided to engage the YEA leadership to better understand these challenges and help them prepare a comprehensive and detailed report for Parliament.
“This meeting is part of the committee’s routine oversight responsibilities aimed at ensuring the effective functioning of government agencies,” he told the media shortly after the closed-door meeting.
Mr. Oti Bless further noted that the leadership of YEA highlighted certain problematic clauses in the current contract, which they believe need to be revised for the YEA model to be more effective.
