The Tema Development Corporation (TDC) Ghana Ltd has inaugurated a new board with a renewed mandate to drive innovation and deliver affordable housing solutions, with Isaac Ashai Odamtten, Member of Parliament for Tema East, appointed as the board chairman.
At the swearing-in ceremony held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, Minister for Works and Housing, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, described the appointment as a “reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to revitalising the housing sector and reinforcing institutional accountability.”
“TDC remains one of Ghana’s top-performing state-owned enterprises. This legacy must not only be preserved but improved upon. I charge the new board to elevate the company’s role in confronting Ghana’s housing challenges head-on,” he stressed.
Mr. Odamtten chairs the board comprising seasoned professionals such as Courage K.M. Nunekpeku, Ebenezer Sam, Adam Awal, Rev. Barbara L. Ayesu, Elliot Gordor, and Abdul Gafaru Ali, Esq.
“This is a great honour and an even greater responsibility. We are not just inheriting a legacy; we are carrying the hopes of thousands of Ghanaians who deserve decent, affordable homes. The task ahead is great, but our collective will to succeed must be even greater,” he noted.
He underscored the importance of innovation in addressing the country’s housing needs. “TDC will continue to innovate, expand, and deliver. We are not in this to maintain the status quo—we are here to transform Tema Metro and, by extension, Ghana, one home at a time.”
The newly sworn-in board is expected to play a pivotal role in delivering the housing vision outlined by the government, particularly under the “Reset Agenda” currently being championed across Tema Metro.
The Communications Directorate at the Office of the Member of Parliament for Tema East described the new board’s assumption of office as “a significant milestone in TDC’s history.”
