Kwame Governs Agbodza: Roads Minister Inspects Progress of Works on Ho-Aflao Road Under GH₵13bn Big Push Agenda

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has inspected the progress of works on the Ho-Aflao Road under President John Mahama’s “Big Push” agenda.

The Big Push initiative, which has received a budgetary allocation of over GH₵13 billion for 2025, aims to open up critical road networks to facilitate trade, boost business, and promote regional integration.

During the inspection rounds at Denu in the Ketu South constituency on Sunday, March 16, Mr Agbodza disclosed that the Ministry’s engineers are finalizing designs that include possible dualization of the stretch and construction of bypasses to ease traffic flow. He noted that drawings are almost complete, with procurement processes set to begin soon to kickstart actual construction.

“The main focus is the Ho-Afalo road that the president promised as part of his Big Push. They have actually collected the data and have started the design. So this visit is just a verification of some of the things we discussed already just to be on the site to see where things should be,” Mr Agbodza told journalists.

He emphasized that the Big Push funding is secured and separate from other road financing sources, assuring that the project will not suffer from funding constraints.
