Cape Coast to Revolutionalise Fashion with Sustainability

This December, the city of Cape Coast will play host to the inaugural Cape Coast Fashion Week, a ground-breaking event that promises to revolutionise the fashion industry in Ghana.

The event, which is slated to take place from December 15 to 17, will focus on sustainable fashion and feature some of the most talented designers, models and fashion enthusiasts from across the country.

Briefing the media about the upcoming event, the lead Organiser, Kamiyla Beausoleil explained that the Cape Coast Fashion Week has been designed to promote sustainable fashion practices in Ghana and beyond.

Kamiyla Beausoleil added that it would also showcase the latest trends in eco-friendly fashion, from organic cotton and recycled materials to upcycled and repurposed designs.

Beausoleil added; “We are excited to launch Cape Coast Fashion Week this December. Our goal is to promote sustainable fashion practices in Ghana and inspire designers, consumers, and policymakers to embrace environmentally friendly fashion choices”.

According to Beausoleil, local communities could be supported through the promotion of environmentally friendly fashion choices and promote sustainable fashion practices to reduce waste.

“We believe that fashion can be a powerful tool for change… Join the revolution and be part of the movement towards sustainable fashion in Ghana”, said the lead Organizer.

The three-day event will feature a series of runway shows, exhibitions and workshops, which will primarily focus on sustainable fashion while designers will showcase their latest creations made from sustainable materials.

It would also create a platform for exhibitors to display their eco-friendly products and services while workshops would also be held to educate participants on sustainable fashion practices and the benefits of reducing waste in the fashion industry.

Cape Coast Fashion Week is expected to attract a diverse audience of fashion enthusiasts, designers, models, and industry experts.

The event will provide a platform for designers to showcase their talents, network with industry professionals, and learn about sustainable fashion practices.
