Bishop Salifu Amoako, father of the 16-year-old boy involved in the tragic accident that claimed the lives of two young girls at East Legon on Saturday, October 12, 2024, has denounced the actions of some of his church members who assaulted an EIB Network reporter, Murtala Inusah following court proceedings on Thursday, October 17.
Speaking to his congregation at Alive Chapel International on Sunday, October 20, Bishop Amoako expressed his deep regret over the incident, stressing the importance of self-discipline and empathy, especially in trying times.
“ACI family, control yourselves,” Bishop Amoako urged. “You came to the court and disgraced me. What you did was unwise and has only added to the battles I am already facing. It was a shameful act, and it should never have happened.”
He emphasized that the courtroom is a space for seeking justice, not a place for disorder.
“The case is now in court. We don’t go to court to fight but to interpret the law. Some of you were lucky you weren’t arrested. By now, you should be in jail for what you did.”
Bishop Amoako clarified that he had not requested any intervention from his church members, urging them to let the legal process run its course.
“I have not called you to come and fight for me,” he stressed.
