A new La Liga season decorated with a host of star players is set to kick off on Thursday, 15th August 2024 and StarTimes is thrilled to announce its preparedness to broadcast the highly esteemed Spanish football league.
LALIGA EA Sports is the premier football league in Spain and is considered one of the top professional football leagues in Europe and the world, featuring 20 participating teams. LALIGA also boasts the record for producing the most winners of both the Ballon d’Or and the FIFA World Player of the Year awards.
StarTimes holds the rights to broadcast LALIGA EA Sports and LALIGA Hypermotion for the next five seasons spanning 2024/25, 2025/26, 2026/27, 2027/28, and 2028/29. The broadcast will be available in all languages except French, including English, Portuguese, and local languages, reaching audiences across all countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
The 10 fixtures of Matchday 1 are spread out over five days, for a true spectacle of football which includes Valencia CF vs FC Barcelona, one of the blockbuster fixtures of any season.
The very first game of the campaign takes place in Bilbao when Athletic Club and Getafe CF get the 2024/25 season up and running at 17:00 GMT on Thursday. All eyes will be on Nico Williams, one of the stars of Euro 2024 and one of the most dynamic players in LALIGA EA SPORTS.
Having cleared out the Match Day 1 hurdle, questions will be raised about who wins the 2024/25 season.
The 2024/25 season of La Liga EA Sports sees Real Madrid bidding to defend their title having been boosted by the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. Hansi Flick’s Barcelona and Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid are likely to be their main challengers with last season’s surprise package Girona having lost a host of star players throughout the summer.
StarTimes assures fans and subscribers of watching all 380 games of LALIGA live and in HD alongside a host of other intriguing sports content including the Bundesliga, EFL Carabao Cup, Saudi Pro League, Copa Del Rey, English Championship, NBA and more.
