Sammi Awuku, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Akuapem North, has reportedly caused his National Democratic Congress (NDC) opponent to withdraw and run away from the constituency.
Nana Yirenkyi I, Apesemakahene of Mampong Akuapem, revealed to the media that the NDC candidate has not been seen participating in any activities in Akuapem North lately.
This includes notable community events, such as funerals and the Awukudea festival.
Nana Yirenkyi I noted that the only presence of the NDC candidate is through posters on light poles.
He criticized the NDC for choosing such a candidate, expressing that the party, being a strong opposition, should have selected a more active representative.
He lamented that previous NDC candidates were more visible and engaged with the community.
Nana Yirenkyi I further stated that the current NDC candidate will go down in history as one of the worst ever in Akuapem North.
Despite a significant number of NDC supporters in the area who will vote for their presidential candidate, John Mahama, they are likely to withhold their votes from their parliamentary candidate.
