The Minister of Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam will present the 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review in Parliament today, Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
This will be his first budget presentation since assuming the role of Finance Minister in February 2024.
The presentation is in accordance with Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).
The review will provide the House with an update on the implementation of the 2024 Budget, offering revised financial plans and an updated economic outlook for Ghana.
A statement from the Ministry on July 22 indicated that the review would cover the economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year, including growth measures, revenue and expenditure performance, financing, and debt sustainability.
“The document will also highlight budget implementation for the rest of the year and a possible review of proposed policies on growth with a focus on SME growth, status on implementation of key government programmes, revenue measures, expenditure controls, and financing agreements based on the half-year performance.”
Dr Amin Adam is also expected to update Parliament on the $3 billion IMF-supported Post-COVID-19 Programme for Economic Growth (PC-PEG).
