Awutu Senya West MP provides sponsorship to over 50 tertiary students

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya West Constituency of the central region, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui has provided financial assistance to over 50 brilliant but needy tertiary students in his constituency.

The aim of the scholarship programme is to help students in the constituency complete their tertiary education to support the constituency in the future.

It is for this reason she said the sponsorship is in line with the mandate bestowed upon him.

On July 15, 2024, the MP for Awutu Senya West, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, continued her commitment to enhancing education in her constituency by awarding scholarships to over 50 deserving tertiary students. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden of increased tuition fees in the current economic climate.

The beneficiaries hail from various tertiary institutions across the constituency, reflecting a broad commitment to educational access. In her address, the MP encouraged the students to seize this opportunity, emphasizing the importance of hard work and the role they play in uplifting their families and communities. She urged them to become mentors for others, fostering a culture of education within their neighborhoods.

During the ceremony, Naakye Awo Bonnewah, the queenmother of Papaase, expressed her gratitude to the MP for her support and urged the people of Awutu Senya West to re-elect her for another term to continue her impactful work.

She also reminded the students of the importance of dedication in light of rising costs in the country.

The beneficiaries expressed their excitement and commitment to studying diligently, vowing to make their families and the MP proud in the future. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the MP has provided scholarships, totaling over 200 students supported in her constituency.

Parents of the beneficiaries shared their heartfelt appreciation for the MP’s assistance in meeting their children’s educational expenses.

Madam Eugenia Asiedu, representing the District Director of Education, also acknowledged Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui’s extensive support for schools at all levels, including donations such as computers to the GES Secretariat.

She, therefore, promised to continue to support education in the area to improve to benefit all without any political discrimination.

“I pledge to support the education of the people in my constituency in all diverse ways to make the lives of my people meaningful,” she stated.

“This is not going to be the last but I will continue to do it as the MP for Awutu Senya West so other brilliant but needy tertiary students will also benefit,” she assured.

Hon.Gizella took the opportunity to urge the beneficiary students to be serious with their books in order to become great personalities in Ghana.

The beneficiary students thanked the MP for the assistance as it was a huge relief to their parents in footing their academic user fees.
