Naada Jinapor Foundation Medical Outreach Program Takes Off At Apilso Electoral Area

Over 700 residents of the Apilso electoral area in the Damongo constituency of the Savannah Region have benefited from a free health screening exercise by the Naada Jinapor Foundation, an NGO founded by the wife of the member of parliament for the Damongo Constituency.

The exercise, formed part of a corporate social responsibility of the Naada Jinapor Foundation to give back to society, especially the vulnerable including women and children.

Patrons were screened for diabetes, sugar levels, blood pressure, eye and dental diseases, malaria, hepatitis B, and breast cancer, among others.

Held simultaneously, the beneficiaries were screened and given free medication, while those identified with complications were referred to an appropriate health facility for further diagnoses and care with the Naada Jinapor Foundation taking up the full cost.

Mrs Naada Jinapor, executive director of the Naada Jinapor Foundation explained that the purpose of the screening was to bring quality health delivery to the doorsteps of the residents living in the Apilso electoral area and its environs comprising of Kabampe, Kananto, among others.

She said the exercise was part of the organisation’s corporate social responsibility implemented some four years ago with the Apilso electoral area being where the Naada Ladies group was launched.

She added that the main purpose of the Naada Jinapor Foundation medical outreach program is to reach out to both young and old living in deprived communities and have little or no access to quality health care.

Mrs Jinapor indicated further that she is very impressed with the turnout of the people of the electoral with her foundation making follow-ups on special cases since the NGO’s main concern is to ensure the society is free from all forms of ailments.

She disclosed that the medical team after conducting the comprehensive health screenings in the Apilso electoral area, 56 cases which needed referral were identified with some 26 requiring surgical intervention and further treatment.

”We are pleased to announce that all the costs associated with these treatments will be fully covered by the foundation” she said.

She assured the general public that the commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals in the communities the Naada Jinapor Foundation serves remains unwavering.

She used the opportunity to eulogize the member of parliament for the Damongo constituency Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor for all the good work he is doing for the Damongo constituency and described him as a working MP whom the constituents must renew his mandate for him to continue to develop the Damongo constituency.

She said a lot has been achieved under the Damongo MP in his first four years that has earned him the name ”man of action” with more developments springing up in all sectors of the constituency.

Assemblyman for the Apilso electoral area, Hon Mohammed Mumuni praised the Naada Jinapor Foundation for coming to the aid of his electoral area for the free medical outreach program.

He said the medication that has been given out to the people will go a long way to help especially the vulnerable since it is difficult for most of them to purchase some of the drugs anytime they are prescribed to them to be bought.

He said he as the Assemblyman is always under pressure anytime any of the electorates are referred to the hospital in Damongo and therefore thanked the foundation for reducing the pressure on him as the drugs given especially to the BP patients in his electoral area will take them more than 3 months to finish which many of them buy almost every week.

He expressed the hope that the exercise should be emulated by other organizations to help the vulnerable since health is wealth.

Some beneficiaries of the free medical outreach program also expressed much gratitude to the Naada Jinapor Foundation and the office of the Damongo MP for coming to their aid in such difficult times.

The Naada Jinapor Foundation has over the years engaged in health screening exercises in the Damongo constituency in the Savannah Region and other parts of the Bono Region including the provision of potable drinking water and distribution of sanitary pads to female students and planting of trees.
