Voting in the NPP’s parliamentary primaries ended a short while ago in various centres nationwide with provisional results being announced as the public eagerly anticipates the outcome of the elections.
Party delegates turned out in large numbers at polling stations to cast their votes for aspirants in constituencies with incumbent Members of Parliament. The voting period, which spanned from 7 am to 2 pm, saw active participation from party members.
However, the electoral process was not without incidents. Allegations of voter inducement and vote buying marred the exercise, with some aspirants accused of offering monetary incentives to delegates. Reports surfaced of amounts ranging from GH₵6,000 to complaints from delegates who received less than GH₵1,500.
