The Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has revealed that plans are currently underway to enhance the mobile telephony reception services in communities located in New Edubiase.
This comes after the MP for the area, Adams Abdul-Salam enquired from the Minister about the steps being taken to boost reception services in communities including Tonkoase No 1 and No 2, Breku, Afianso, Akutresu, Kojo Yentumi, Akwa Atwereboana and Oboubikrom.
Appearing before the House on Monday, December 11, 2023, to answer the questions in her name, the Minister indicated that though provisions have not been made for the said communities, she will do all in her power to ensure they benefit and enjoy improved reception services.
“Mr Speaker, the communities listed here have not yet been captured under the Ghana Rural Telephony and Digital Inclusion project. However, efforts will be made to survey, acquire, and build sites in these communities for them to benefit from the project finances permitting,” she assured the MP.
