Ghana is facing danger, it is time to speak up – Nyaho-Tamakloe ‘fires’ Kufuor, Otumfuo, National Chief Imam, other high-profile figures

Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on influential figures in the country to speak out against the current state of governance in the country.

According to him, Ghana is facing imminent danger and heading towards an abyss if powerful figures continue to remain silent.

Addressing a recent anti-corruption forum organised by Togbe Afedem the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe appealed to former President John Agyekum Kufuor, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the National Chief Imam, and Archbishops, to make their voice count.

“We have the National House of Chiefs, they have been quiet and I wonder why because we are facing a great danger.

“I would like also to bring to the attention of former President Kufuor that it is time to talk, he has been too silent and because he is refusing to talk it is leading this country into a disaster,” he added.

In his view, the current developments in the country indicate that President Akufo-Addo is not fully in control of the government, and he warned of potential dangers if certain actions and trends continue unchecked.

“This country is facing danger if you just take a careful look at what the Electoral Commission is doing – the signals are there, we have seen it before. I know what coups are, I have been a member of a group that wanted to stage one and if it had been those days, there would have been no civilian government,” he added.

Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe’s call for prominent figures to voice their concerns reflects the growing unease and dissatisfaction with the state of governance in Ghana. Many citizens are eager to see influential leaders take a stand and contribute to addressing the challenges facing the nation.
