Originally scheduled for July 27, 2023, the presentation was later rescheduled to today, Tuesday, July 25, 2023, only to be cancelled again until further notice.
These multiple postponements, left Members of Parliament (MPs) and the public speculating about the reasons behind the delay.
The abrupt last-minute cancellation has stirred curiosity among MPs and citizens alike, with various speculations emerging about the possible factors contributing to the delay. The Finance Minister’s office has yet to release an official statement regarding the reasons behind the postponements.
Confusion rocks Akufo-Addo govt over date for mid-year budget: 25th, 27th, or 31st July?
In response to the uncertainty surrounding the rescheduled presentation, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, announced that Ken Ofori-Atta would engage in an intensive meeting with MPs on Friday, July 28, 2023, to discuss the situation ahead of the newly planned date, Monday, July 31, 2023.
