Stephen ‘Tornado’ Appiah, a former coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars has opened up on his upcoming memoir.
According to him, the new book will unveil surprising details and untold secrets about his journey as a professional football player.
He said the book will shed light on his challenging upbringing in the slums of Chorkor and how he defied all odds to lead Ghana to the World Cup.
Speaking to Accra-based Joy Sports, Stephen Appiah expressed that while people are familiar with his career in the national team and his time abroad, there are many unknown aspects of his life, particularly his difficult childhood. He emphasized that his memoir will delve into these deep details and provide readers with a comprehensive understanding of his remarkable life.
“People saw me playing for Accra Hearts of Oak, U-17, U-20 and move to Europe. So they know about my career but there are some deep details that people don’t know,” Appiah said.
“I have to keep it to myself because definitely one day I will write my book and I will put them in. It should be a surprise but I have certain deep details.”
“When I mention that I come from Chorkor, you have to know that I have really come a long way,” Appiah said.
Stephen Appiah’s notable accomplishments include leading Ghana to their first-ever World Cup appearance in 2006 and his successful stint with Juventus.
