The parliamentary candidate of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming Assin North by-election, James Gyakye Quayson has led a high-powered delegation to attend the one-week funeral rites of the late Assin Dansame accident victim.
The prominent delegation comprising the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, along with General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the Minority Leader Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, and other Members of Parliament, Regional and National Executives, joined the grieving family of the late accident victim from Dansame in observing her one-week funeral rites.

During the ceremony, the NDC presented the family with numerous cartons of drinking water, assorted drinks, and a generous sum of GH₵10,000.00 to assist with the preparations for the final funeral rites. The party’s gesture aimed to provide comfort and support to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
In a remarkable display of compassion, the deposed MP for the area, James Gyakye Quayson, pledged to personally care for each of the deceased’s children until they reach the age of 18. To fulfil this commitment, an announcement was made by Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC on behalf of James Gyakye Quayson.

The offer includes a welfare endowment package of GH₵500.00 to be allocated every month for the upbringing of each of the four surviving children. This generous contribution amounts to a total of GH₵2,000.00 per month to ensure their well-being.
As a testament to his dedication, Gyakye Quayson made an initial one-year deposit of GH₵24,000.00 into the Children’s Welfare Endowment fund. Furthermore, he pledged to cover the entire cost of medical treatment for one of the children diagnosed with glaucoma at the Interbeton hospital.

The grieving family expressed their deep appreciation for the support received from the NDC and were assured of the party’s continuous assistance in organizing a dignified burial and funeral for their beloved family member and her children.
