Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential hopeful of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized the political leadership of Ghana, stating that they have failed the people.
He expressed his disappointment with the lack of vision among most political leaders, attributing it to the country’s inability to find solutions to its problems.
Addressing NPP members in Jirapa in the Upper West Region as part of his campaign for the NPP flagbearer polls, the Assin Central MP asserted that the political leaders of Ghana should be punished by God for their shortcomings. Despite the abundance of resources in the country, he believes that the leaders have failed to effectively address issues and provide solutions for the nation.
“God must gather all the politicians in this country and lash all of us. Do you know why?”
“I went to the Volta Region, Krachi and this community is by the Volta River, but they were complaining that they did not have water.”
“You have the Volta here but you are going to dig bole holes. What is wrong with us?” he said in Twi.
The outspoken politician also highlighted that the lack of vision among political leaders has led to the country being taken advantage of by foreign interests and urged the NPP delegates in Jirapa to make him their flagbearer.
Kennedy Agyapong emphasized that he is the only person Ghanaians can trust, and he believes that he has the vision and capability to transform the country.
Agyapong expressed confidence that many Ghanaians who are disillusioned with politicians will rally behind him if he becomes the NPP’s candidate for the presidential race. He has presented himself as an alternative with a clear vision for change and development, aiming to garner support from the electorate who seek genuine transformation in the leadership of the country.
