5-year-old girl born with one leg needs support for artificial limb in Dambai

A five-year-old girl, Muniratu Mohammed, who lives in Dambai in the Oti Region, is in urgent need of support to acquire an artificial leg.

Muniratu was born with only one leg and has since struggled to walk and live like other children her age.

Her story came to light after Hope Foundation visited the family in Dambai.

According to her father, Mr Mohammed, his daughter’s condition breaks his heart every day.

“She struggles to walk or even play with other children. Anytime she sees her peers running and playing, she wants to join them, but she cannot. It pains us as parents,” her father lamented.

He is therefore appealing to the general public, philanthropists, NGOs and the government to come to his daughter’s aid by helping her obtain an artificial leg to enable her to walk more freely, go to school and enjoy her childhood.

Mr Mohammed added that the cost of obtaining a quality artificial leg and accessing medical care is beyond the family’s means.

Any individual or organisation willing to support Muniratu Mohammed can reach the family through Hope Foundation or contact her father in Dambai.
