Dr Kate Addo calls for collaboration between traditional media and bloggers

The Chief Information Officer at the Parliament of Ghana, Dr Kate Addo, has called for greater collaboration between traditional media practitioners and bloggers to strengthen media engagement and improve the dissemination of information in the digital age.

According to her, the growing influence of bloggers and other new media practitioners presents opportunities for traditional media to expand their reach, engage wider audiences and enhance the delivery of information.

Speaking on the topic “The Nexus of Parliamentary Work Culture: Maintaining Professionalism” at a two-day workshop for the Parliamentary Press Corps at the AH Hotel in Accra, Dr Addo stressed the need to harness the advantages of both traditional and new media to support effective communication.

She noted that the growing influence of bloggers and other new media practitioners presents opportunities for traditional media to expand their reach, engage wider audiences and enhance the delivery of information.

She also encouraged media practitioners to recognise the evolving media landscape and explore ways to integrate the strengths of established media organisations with the speed, reach and audience engagement offered by digital platforms.
