Linda Ayesu outlines vision to make USAG more visible, vibrant and connected if elected Press and Information Secretary

A Media and Communication Studies (Journalism) graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Linda Ayesu, has outlined her vision to make the University Students Association of Ghana (USAG) more visible, vibrant and connected if elected as Press and Information Secretary.

Ms Ayesu says she intends to create platforms for students to tell their stories and engage directly with relevant stakeholders.

According to her, students have important stories to tell about issues such as accommodation, security and sanitation, as well as their achievements, aspirations and experiences.

Speaking exclusively to newsalertgh.com, she said her campaign is anchored on the mantra, “You for tell your story”, which reflects her belief that students should have a platform to share their concerns and achievements.

“My dream to occupy this office is to bring students and stakeholders together. Whilst students tell their stories, stakeholders are present to listen, not just ending there, but together bringing solutions to these and giving these stories the desired platform,” she said.

Ms Ayesu believes a stronger connection between students and stakeholders will enable USAG to highlight student concerns better while contributing to efforts to address them.

At KNUST, where she studied for a BA in Media and Communication Studies (Journalism), Ms Ayesu has held several student leadership positions.

She served as President of the Media and Communication Students Association (MECSA-KNUST) and as Welfare Committee Chairperson for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CoHSS-KNUST).

She also served as Local NUGS KNUST Coordinating Secretary and was a committee member of the 58th National NUGS Projects and Programmes Committee.

Additionally, she served as a member of the Sponsorship Committee of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Ms Ayesu says her experience in student leadership and communication has strengthened her commitment to contesting for the USAG Press and Information Secretary position.
