President John Mahama has described the role of Ghana’s Sports and Recreation Minister as unenviable, acknowledging the monumental task ahead for the newly sworn-in Minister, Kofi Adams.
During the swearing-in at the Jubilee House on Friday, (7 February), President Mahama told Kofi Adams, “I don’t envy your job”.
“You have the monumental task of restoring Ghana to its pride of place in African and world sports.”- he said.
“I expect that you concentrate on building up all the sporting disciplines. I know the Ghana Football Association would be a good place to start to make sure that we return the Black Stars to their glory days.”
“I expect that you inject transparency, professionalism, and modernity into the management of the sector.”
Adams’ first major test will likely be reviving the Ghana Football Association (GFA), with Mahama making it clear that ensuring the Black Stars return to their glory days must be a priority.
