VIDEO: Ken Agyapong and Sylvester Tetteh In Near Fisticuffs on Floor of Parliament Over Alleged Unpaid Loan (Watch)

Two Members of Parliament on the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong and Sylvester Tetteh nearly engaged in fisticuffs on the floor of Parliament over an alleged unpaid loan.

The heated confrontation which nearly escalated into a physical altercation, was captured in a viral video circulating on social media. The footage captures the Assin Central MP, Ken Agyapong visibly agitated, pointing his finger at the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfrom MP, Sly Tetteh allegedly demanding his money.

According to sources, Sly Tetteh owes Mr Agyapong and when the former NPP Presidential aspirant confronted him for the money, Tetteh allegedly told him to take him to court, which apparently infuriated Mr Agyapong to react angrily.

Sensing danger, Mr Tetteh, attempted to disengage from the situation and tried moving away, but his actions seemed to further provoke Agyapong, who pursued him, audibly hurling insults at the Bortianor MP and demanding his money.

But for the swift intervention of Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Deputy Majority Leader and MP for Efutu, who escorted Tetteh away from the chamber, the situation could have escalated into a potential physical altercation.

Following Tetteh’s removal from the parliamentary floor, Agyapong returned to his seat, still visibly upset by the incident. Patrick Yaw Boamah, MP for Okaikoi South, then approached him in an attempt to defuse the tension.
