The New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership in the Nkwanta South Constituency has appealed to the authorities to review the existing curfew hours in the municipality, citing the impact on trading activities and residents’ livelihoods.
The party leadership said the current curfew restrictions were affecting commercial activities and making it difficult for traders and other residents to carry out their daily businesses.
The appeal was made during the coronation of the Adeleman Traditional Paramount Chief, Nana Asete Owusu III, on Saturday, November 7, 2026.
According to the NPP leadership, adjusting the curfew hours would help improve business activities, support local livelihoods and allow residents to gradually return to normal life.
They urged the relevant authorities to consider the concerns of traders and residents and take steps to review the restrictions in a manner that balances security needs with economic activities.
The appeal comes amid concerns over the effects of the curfew on commercial activities and livelihoods in Nkwanta South.
