The Ho Central Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to hold its constituency executive elections on Saturday, October 24, 2026, with 76 contestants vying for 14 positions.
The elections will take place at the OLA Senior High School in Ho, where about 2,300 delegates are expected to participate to vote for new constituency executives.
Dr Collins Nunyonameh, Director of Elections for the NDC Ho Central Constituency, disclosed the figures in an interaction with the media ahead of the elections.
He said the election committee was prepared to facilitate a smooth electoral process and urged all delegates to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the exercise.
Dr Nunyonameh appealed to delegates to seek clarification from the election committee whenever they encountered issues they did not understand regarding the electoral process.
According to him, the committee would remain available to provide the necessary guidance and support to ensure that the elections proceeded smoothly.
He further urged delegates to focus on the contestants’ competence when making their choices, rather than being influenced by the size or prominence of those contesting the various positions.
“We would only ask the delegates to comport themselves. If there is something that they do not understand about any aspect of the process, they should clarify with the election committee. We are on hand to support them and make sure the process flows as smoothly as possible,” he said.
The elections form part of the NDC’s internal organisational process, with the outcome expected to determine the next crop of constituency executives who will oversee the party’s activities at the grassroots level in Ho Central.
The constituency has previously attracted significant participation in its internal elections. In the 2022 constituency elections, more than 2,200 delegates were reported to have turned up at the OLA SHS campus.
