Security has been heightened at the venue of the much-anticipated Momofest in the Volta Region, with the Ghana Police Service mounting about eight security barricades at various points leading to the main event grounds.
The security arrangements are aimed at ensuring the safety of patrons and maintaining order as thousands of music fans converge on the venue for the festival.
Personnel of the Ghana Police Service have been strategically positioned at the various entry points, conducting checks and directing patrons as they make their way into the main venue.
The Police have so far maintained a strong presence at the event, with the security arrangements ensuring a controlled flow of people into the festival grounds.
Patrons seeking access to the main venue are required to download the MoMo app on their mobile phones as part of the arrangements for entry.
The digital payment system has also provided an opportunity for vendors at the festival to cash in, with several of them conducting SIM-less MoMo transactions for patrons purchasing food, drinks and other items.
With the large turnout of patrons, vendors are recording brisk business, while the Police continue to maintain security and order around the venue to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable Momofest.
