Dr Isaac Bampoe Addo, Executive Secretary of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), has reportedly died after a brief illness.
Dr Bampoe Addo, 59, died on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Lighthouse Hospital in Accra after he was rushed there for medical attention but unfortunately could not survive.
His death is a major loss to Ghana’s labour movement, where he had established himself as a prominent voice on issues affecting public sector workers.
As Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, Dr Bampoe Addo played a key role in the association’s engagements with the government and other stakeholders on matters concerning public sector workers.
He also contributed to the development of the association’s institutional policies and represented the interests of its members in engagements on public sector and labour matters.
Further details on his death and funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by his family and CLOGSAG in due course.
