Earlier reports had indicated that one of the fuel tankers veered off the road and plunged into a nearby river after the collision.

A member of the GNFS Communications Team, Alex King Nartey, earlier confirmed the incident to Citi News, stating that emergency responders had been deployed to assess the situation and provide assistance.

Authorities say the situation is now under control, while investigations are underway to establish the cause of the crash.
