The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Edem Kpotosu, has donated 20 bags of cement to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Volta Region in support of the ongoing Phase Two construction of the Association’s Press Centre.
The donation forms part of the legislator’s contribution towards the completion of the project, which is expected to provide a modern and functional facility for journalists and media practitioners in the Volta Region.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Association, the Volta Regional Chairman of the GJA, Dr Harrison Belley, expressed gratitude to Hon. Kpotosu for the timely support, describing the gesture as a demonstration of the MP’s commitment to promoting media development in the region.
He noted that the donation would contribute significantly to the progress of the Press Centre Phase Two Project, which, when completed, will serve as an important hub for professional journalism activities, capacity-building programmes and stakeholder engagements.
Dr Belley appealed to corporate organisations, public institutions, development partners and individuals to emulate the MP’s example by supporting the project to ensure its successful completion.
According to him, the Press Centre is a shared investment that will strengthen journalism, promote professionalism and contribute to democratic governance and development in the Volta Region.
The GJA Volta Region has been mobilising support from individuals and organisations to complete the second phase of the Press Centre project, aimed at providing a permanent home for journalists and enhancing media practice in the region.
