The Member of Parliament for the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem Constituency, Samuel Atta Mills, has presented a donation of GH¢40,000 in cash and 80 LED bulbs to support the Bakatue Festival celebrations of the people of Elmina.
The donation is aimed at enhancing the festivities and improving security and visibility across the Elmina Traditional Area during the celebration period.
The 80 LED bulbs will be installed along key areas from Elmina Junction through Bantama to Pershie to light up the entire traditional area and create a brighter, safer environment for residents and visitors throughout the festival.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr Atta Mills reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Elmina and the preservation of its rich cultural heritage.

“Bakatue is more than a festival. It is a time of unity, reflection and pride for our people. I am proud to support initiatives that brighten our communities and bring our people together,” he stated.
The donation was received with appreciation by the festival planning committee and traditional authorities, who commended the MP for his continued support for community development and cultural promotion.
