The Ghana Police Service has launched investigations into a shooting incident involving former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.
According to a press release issued and signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region stated the Madina Divisional Police Command is currently probing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Ms. Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear on Sunday, June 21, 2026, while visiting the residence of her late father in Kwabenya. Following the incident, she reported the matter to the Kwabenya Police and presented a vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24, which reportedly bore visible gunshot damage.
Police said the victim has since been issued with a Police Medical Report Form and is receiving medical treatment.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the vehicle involved has been retained by the police for forensic examination. Authorities say efforts are underway to establish the exact circumstances that led to the shooting and to identify all persons connected to the incident.
The Accra Regional Police Command has assured the public that investigations are progressing and that further updates will be provided as more details emerge.
