The Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has continued to demonstrate his commitment to education by extending support to students from the University of Ghana.
The beneficiaries, who are members of the Volta Regional Students Association (VORSA), received a total of GHC 105,000 in financial support on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Mr. Afenyo-Markin also encouraged the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously, remain disciplined, and strive for excellence in order to become responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully to national development.

In a related development, the Effutu MP also received the leadership of the Ashanti Students Union (ASU) of the University of Ghana in his office. The group paid a courtesy call to express their appreciation for his role as Special Guest of Honour at their Grand Durbar, Homecoming, and Handover Ceremony held on August 17, 2025.
The Union presented him with a citation in recognition of his continuous support, and discussions were held on ways to provide further assistance to some needy members of the Association.
According to Mr. Afenyo-Markin, a list of such students is being validated to enable him to facilitate the payment of their fees.
