The Coordinating Director of the Public Affairs Subdivision of Parliament, Kate Addo, has emphasised that effective communication is the foundation of good governance and democratic leadership.
Speaking at the 2025 Parliamentary Service Graduate Training Program, she urged staff to embrace clarity, precision, and professionalism in all official interactions.
In her comprehensive presentation on communication and interpersonal skills, Kate Addo also stressed that whether engaging with senior management or junior colleagues, employees of the Parliamentary Service ought to prioritise respectful and transparent communication to strengthen collaboration within Ghana’s public service.
Madam Addo encouraged graduate trainees to remain professional and neutral when discussing sensitive work-related matters, stressing that effective communication is not just a soft skill but a critical tool for leadership, accountability, and transparency in governance.
“Communication is the lifeblood of democracy,” she noted, reminding staff that their ability to communicate effectively will directly influence the credibility and efficiency of Ghana’s parliamentary governance system.
