The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has urged the newly sworn-in Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, to remain grounded and concentrate on delivering meaningful development to her constituents.
Speaking during her swearing-in ceremony in Parliament on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Speaker Bagbin reminded the new MP that political office is fleeting and should be treated as an opportunity to serve with humility and diligence.
“Four years is just a day — you’ll go back to them,” the Speaker cautioned, stressing the importance of accountability and connection with the electorate.
He encouraged the MP to always keep the people of Ablekuma North at the heart of her decisions and to approach her new role with a servant-leader mentality.
He further urged her to be a bridge between the government and the grassroots, delivering policies and projects that tangibly improve the lives of her constituents.
The ceremony was attended by fellow parliamentarians, party executives, family members, and supporters, all of whom hailed the occasion as a milestone in the constituency’s political history.
With her swearing-in, Ewurabena Aubynn officially joins the ranks of lawmakers in Ghana’s 9th Parliament, bearing the weight of expectations and the promise of renewed hope for her constituents.
