The Muslim edition of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving is currently underway at the National Mosque of Ghana in Accra. The event has brought together Islamic leaders, government officials, and citizens in a solemn moment of national reflection.
Led by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, today’s service follows the earlier Christian version held at the forecourt of the State House.
President John Dramani Mahama and his running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, are among the dignitaries in attendance, joining thousands of worshippers and leaders in prayer and thanksgiving.
The service forms part of the broader National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving activities being observed across the country today, Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
The interfaith commemoration is being held simultaneously in all 16 regions and 261 districts of Ghana, under a collective canopy of spiritual reflection and national hope.
