Minister of Defence Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah has spearheaded the construction of an asphalt overlay on the internal roads of Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary in Koforidua-Effiduase, Eastern Region.
The project, facilitated by Dr. Omane Boamah, a proud alumnus of the school, comes ahead of the 67th anniversary and homecoming celebrations slated for 13th June to 15 June, 2025. The project has significantly transformed the campus environment.
“The aim is to fix the deplorable nature of the road network to facilitate the free movement of staff, students, and visitors, ensure effective traffic control, and boost productivity,” he stated.

Once riddled with potholes and poor accessibility, the road network now features a smooth and durable surface, enhancing mobility for students, staff, and visitors.
The upgraded roads also extend benefits to surrounding institutions such as St. Joseph Hospital and the Eastern Regional Office of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, as the construction linked the school to the main Effiduase road.

Next week’s 67th anniversary will feature a Career Guidance session with current students, where alumni will interact and share insights with them. There will also be the POJOBA AGM, followed by a speech and prize-giving ceremony. The celebrations will continue with a homecoming event, a special “Time with Kwan Pa Band” session, and a Thanksgiving Mass to wrap it all up.
