NEIP Partners with Banks to boost financial access for Ghanaian entrepreneurs

The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) is strengthening ties with leading financial institutions to boost the effective rollout of its flagship initiative, the Adwumawura Programme, aimed at empowering entrepreneurs across Ghana.

During a recent stakeholder engagement in Accra, NEIP met with top banks, including Absa Bank, Stanbic Bank, Exim Bank, and Zenith Bank, to align on shared goals for advancing entrepreneurship and improving access to finance.

Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, Eric Adjei, stressed the importance of private-sector collaboration in transforming Ghana’s entrepreneurial landscape.

“Our engagement with financial institutions is a deliberate step to align our objectives with the financial sector, providing targeted support to entrepreneurs. These partnerships will help bridge the gap between innovative ideas and the financial resources needed to bring them to life,” he stated.

Discussions centred on key pillars critical to the programme’s success: strengthening business incubation, expanding access to funding, enhancing mentorship and advisory services, and leveraging technology to track impact.

Representatives from participating banks welcomed the initiative and pledged their support toward NEIP’s broader mission of stimulating job creation and driving economic transformation through entrepreneurship.

The Adwumawura Programme aims to support thousands of startups and small businesses by providing access to finance, mentorship, and market opportunities, marking a significant step toward building a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem in Ghana.
