A former Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Alfred Kwame Agbesi, has passed away at 70.
He was reported dead on Friday, May 2, 2025, after a short illness.
During his time in office from 2005 to 2016, he played key roles both locally and internationally, notably serving as Ghana’s representative in the ECOWAS Parliament in 2008, 2009, and 2013 and holding the position of Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament.
In 2015, he lost the NDC parliamentary primaries to the current MP, Ernest Norgbey. Despite challenges, including a near-fatal accident in 2017, he remained a respected figure in Ghanaian politics.
As of now, the cause of his death remains undisclosed.
