Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson will today, Tuesday, March 11, 2025, present his first budget to Parliament, outlining the government’s economic strategy to reset and transform Ghana’s economy in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision.
The budget is expected to provide a comprehensive assessment of the current economic situation while unveiling policy measures aimed at revitalizing key sectors. It will also incorporate recommendations from the recently held National Economic Dialogue, which took place on March 3rd and 4th.
The country’s economy is said to be in a dire state, and government officials indicate that the situation is worse than anticipated before the 2024 elections.
The 2025 budget is therefore expected to set clear economic benchmarks and outline financing mechanisms to support Ghana’s recovery efforts.
Ahead of today’s presentation, the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has assured that the Budget will target and cut wasteful expenditure.
