The largest opposition, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), today, March 3, 2025, delivered what it described as the “True State of the Nation Address” at a press conference in Accra. The event, led by the party’s parliamentary leadership, is a direct response to President John Dramani Mahama’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered on February 27, 2025.
According to the NPP, President Mahama’s address failed to provide a comprehensive and accurate assessment of Ghana’s current state, omitting critical national concerns. The party argues that key issues such as worsening power supply, rising security challenges, increasing illegal mining activities, and the growing employment crisis were downplayed or ignored entirely.
