The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has inaugurated a five-member committee to review and enhance the efficiency of the Axle Load Control Programme.
The committee comprises representatives from the National Security, Private Haulage Operators, the Ghana Highway Authority, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ghana Standards Authority.
According to a statement from the ministry, the committee’s mandate includes identifying operational challenges, investigating regulatory violations, assessing the management of collected fines, and proposing reforms to improve the programme’s effectiveness.
