President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mohammed Abdul-Salam as the Acting Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).
The appointment, effective January 15, 2025, tasks Abdul-Salam with overseeing the authority’s operations.
“His Excellency John Dramanl Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana has in accordance with Article IPS (1) of the Constitution and section 45(1) of the National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 7) appointed you as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Lottery Authority pending receipt of the Constitutionally required advice of the Board of the Authority, in consultation with the Public Services Commission,” excerpts of a letter from the Office of the President.

Before this appointment, Abdul-Salam served as the Regional Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region.
