The Jasikan Diocesan Youth Council (JADYC) has issued a strong condemnation of the violent attack on 3 Catholic Missionary priests in Nkwanta on December 11, 2024.
The incident, which targeted priests from the Kpassa Catholic Church, has sparked widespread outrage within the Catholic community and beyond.
In a press release, JADYC denounced the attack as a “senseless act of brutality” and called for urgent action to ensure justice is served. The Council voiced concern over the targeting of clergy, describing the Catholic Church as a “beacon of peace, love, and compassion.”
“We urge the authorities to act swiftly to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, particularly the clergy,” the statement read.
The Council also appealed for calm, urging the public to avoid retaliatory actions and allow the legal system to address the matter.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire Catholic community in Ghana. May God bring healing, comfort, and peace to all those affected,” portions of the statement read.
