The weeklong event, themed “Sustainability: Our Collective Responsibility,” reflected MTN’s sustainability vision to create shared value for its stakeholders through responsible environmental, social, and governance practices and solutions.

She further elaborated on MTN’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and furthering financial inclusion to support the attainment of the goals.

The Deputy Director and Advisor of the SDG Advisory Unit at the Office of the President, Dr. Felix Addo-Yobo, emphasized humanity’s duty to protect nature. He stressed that deliberate actions are necessary to preserve the ocean, land, and nature, as humanity would suffer if these ecosystems were destroyed.

In her remarks, Mina Pokuaa Agyemang, Participant Engagement and Outreach Manager of the UN Global Compact-Ghana encouraged businesses to integrate sustainability into their operations. According to her, incorporating sustainability demonstrates a commitment to responsible business practices, including staff welfare and fair wages. She highlighted the benefits for businesses that embrace sustainability and invited interested businesses to submit letters of commitment.

As part of the Sustainability Week celebration, MTN raised awareness about environmental and social issues, inspired positive change, and demonstrated its commitment to sustainable development.
