The National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo led over 3,000-strong team on a retail and community engagement campaign in the Central Region.
The mobilization effort saw the team embark on a door-to-door canvassing exercise, urging citizens to vote for the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Mahama, and its parliamentary candidates in the upcoming elections.
During the campaign on Aug 23, Opare Addo highlighted NDC’s key policies, including the 24-hour economy policy, the No Fees Stress policy, which promises free tuition fees for all level 100 university entrants, and the apprenticeship program. These initiatives resonated with the electorate, who expressed their support for the NDC’s vision.
“The next John Mahama administration will introduce the 24-hour economy policy that will solve the unemployment in the country. He will also make university tuition fees free for all level 100 entrants and he will also introduce the apprenticeship program for those who prefer to learn skills,” Opare Addo said.
The campaign, which took place in various constituencies, including Awutu Senya East and West, Effutu, and Palm Kennels Association, also drew support from the locals. George Opare Addo was accompanied by personalities, including Chairman of the Youth Wing Working Committee, Okai Mintah, NDC parliamentary aspirant for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, and MP for Awutu Senya West, Hon. Gizella Aku Shika Tetteh-Agbotui.
The campaign’s success was evident in the massive turnout of supporters, who thronged the streets to catch a glimpse of the NDC team. George Opare Addo’s leadership and charisma were on full display as he engaged with the crowd, listening to their concerns and addressing their questions.
The NDC’s message of hope and change struck a chord with the people, who are eager for a new direction in governance. As the campaign trail continues, it is clear that the NDC is poised to make a significant impact in the Central Region and beyond.
George Opare Addo’s leadership has been instrumental in mobilizing the youth and energizing the NDC’s base. His commitment to the party’s ideals and his ability to connect with the grassroots have made him a standout figure in the political landscape.
With a strong team behind him, John Mahama’s presidential bid has gained momentum, and the NDC is poised to make a strong showing at the polls.
