In a shocking turn of events, Samira Bawumia, wife of NPP flagbearer Alhaji Bawumia, has resorted to tribal politics, urging Fulanis to vote for her husband. This move comes as no surprise, given her husband’s lack of a campaign message.
Voice of the People, a civil society organization, has raised concerns about the presence of non-Ghanaian Fulanis on the electoral register, sparking questions about potential aid from Samira Bawumia.
The organization also highlights the influx of nomadic Fulanis, allegedly aided by those in authority, and wonders if the Second Lady’s actions are driven by political ambition. The Ashanti region has suffered at the hands of these Fulanis, with destroyed farms, killings, and rapes. Despite this, Samira Bawumia has never admonished them to cease their nefarious activities.
The Voice of the People demands answers on who has been enabling these Fulanis to escape justice. Samira Bawumia’s promise of continued support to the Fulanis has sparked outrage, with many questioning if this includes support for their criminal activities.
A Fulani attendee, Abdulai Sadi, revealed that they were promised occupation of the Afram Plains and forest reserves in exchange for voting for the NPP. This has angered voters in the Asante Akyem and Kwahu areas, who vow to punish the NPP for their inaction.
