Election 2024: Mahama’s Campaign Team Denies Seeking Technical or Financial Support from Russian Government

The Mahama Campaign Team has refuted media allegations suggesting that they are seeking technical or financial support from the Russian government in preparation for the 2024 general elections.

This rebuttal comes in response to reports from certain pro-government media outlets claiming that the former President approached Russian authorities under the guise of launching a Russian version of his autobiography, ‘My First Coup D’etat.’

In a statement dated Friday, July 12, 2024, the Spokesperson of the Mahama Campaign Team, Joyce Bawah Mogtari condemned the publications as “shadowy and unethical journalism” aimed at defaming the NDC flagbearer.

She clarified that the NDC Flagbearer was in Russia solely to launch the Russian translation of his memoir at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow.

The Campaign Team has called on Ghanaians to reject these allegations, emphasizing that there was no attempt by Mahama to seek political support during his visit to Moscow.
