Former President John Dramani Mahama has made an emotional appeal to the Ghanaian youth to look beyond the pain and frustration inflicted on them by the Akufo-Addo government.
According to him, when elected President in the December polls, he will usher in a new era for Ghana, specifically focusing on creating opportunities for the youth.
During a media briefing on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Kempinski Hotel, the NDC Flagbearer advocated for transformative change that places Ghanaian youth at the forefront, ensuring they are not marginalized in national decision-making processes.
Addressing the pervasive disillusionment among young people towards the political establishment, Mahama promised sweeping reforms aimed at rekindling their faith and integrating them actively into governance.
“To the youth of Ghana, I say I understand your frustration and your disillusionment. Many of you are feeling very frustrated. I can relate to the recent cynicism and massive mistrust you have in our body politics because the current government has been undeserving of your trust.”
“The challenges of today might seem insurmountable but I urge you to look beyond the present and dream with me of a reset Ghana. The Ghana we all want where your talents and hard work will determine your success.”
Mahama emphasized his commitment to creating an inclusive Ghana where youth participation drives progress and prosperity.
“I promise a Ghana where you are not sidelined, but at the forefront of change where you can live happy lives and still achieve your optimum potential. This is not just a promise, it’s a commitment. I will reset the economy and Ghana will be open for business for 24 hours a day,” he affirmed.
