Former Communication Officer Aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Agona West Constituency, Mr Harrison K. Aglago, has urged the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to investigate the NPP Parliamentary Candidate in the Agona West Constituency in the Central Region of Ghana.
He accused Hon. Chris Arthur, the PC, of misusing state funds and living an opulent lifestyle.
According to him, the degree to which he sprays money and dashes items in the constituency sparks suspicion.
He alleged that the PC spent a huge sum of money during funerals, which could have been channelled to undertake development in the constituency.
“How on earth can a young guy who has just worked barely for four years be paying 5,000.00 to 10,000.00 cedis respectively at every funeral event for close to three years now?” he lamented.
He claimed that Mr Chris Arthur, who is working with the YEA, has given out over 180 hair dryers, 278 sewing machines, and 800 standing fans at a go, as well as paying bribes for over 170 students to gain admission into nursing and colleges of education, which Mr Harrison is urging the NIB to question his source of income aside from being paid as a government official.
Mr Harrison detailed that his close source investigation revealed that the aforementioned items were stolen from the Youth Employment Authority (YEA), stating that the items, which should be distributed to youth in the constituency irrespective of their political background, are rather finding their way into the houses of NPP foot soldiers.
“Just yesterday, the whopping amount of money the PC sprayed and items shared at a funeral in our constituency was beyond all human expressions.”
He stressed that the PC commenced such undemocratic behaviour by using money to buy the conscience of delegates during the NPP’s last parliamentary primaries, reiterating that he ought to be investigated to disclose his source of income before it blows up to many dimensions in the political scene of this country.
