Ayiku’s Thugs on Rampage: Destroy Signage for Dr. Okoe Boye’s Ambulance Donation Program Ahead of Event

Thugs alleged to be sponsored by the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Benjamin Nartey Ayiku have gone on a rampage and destroyed the signage for the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye.

The signage was meant to announce an ambulance donation program to the Teshie Community Clinic (TCC) slated for today, Tuesday, February 20, 2024. The incident, which occurred late last night, has sparked accusations and counter-accusations between political factions in the area.

According to eyewitness accounts, the destruction of the signage was allegedly orchestrated by supporters of the sitting MP.

The deep-throat sources further claim to have seen Mr Ayiku with a group of individuals around the signage just hours before it was destroyed.

Speaking to newsalertgh.com, a resident narrated, “Hon. Ayiku was seen with these NDC thugs around the signage around midnight last night, just a few hours before it was destroyed. It is important to note that Dr. Okoe Boye’s signage, which is located a short distance away, was also destroyed, leaving only Ayiku’s supposed Polyclinic signage intact, even though it is not related to the Teshie Community Clinic area. This is a tacit admission that Hon. Ayiku opposes the development of Teshie because he is not the champion of any projects, whereas Dr Okoe Boye is at the centre of all developments.”

“This behaviour of vandalism and thuggery is what Ayiku and the NDC exhibited when Dr Okoe Boye sent people to cut the sod for the hospital expansion project. This resulted in the project being placed on hold until all security matters are addressed.”

“Ayiku and the NDC have nothing to offer the people of Teshie. They have resorted to thuggery and vandalism as their strategy. They plan to hinder all development because Ayiku is not competent enough to initiate them, which would bring disgrace to him and his party.”

Another resident lamented, “Since Hon. Ayiku became MP almost four (4) years ago, nothing small or moderate can be associated with him except finding avenues to disrupt, destroy, and fight people in the community who try to bring development. He is an incompetent, petty, and anti-development agent who mistakenly found himself in the seat of MP. Instead of Ayiku bringing development, he seems bent on thwarting efforts by his opponents to help the people of Ledzokuku benefit from the same. All he does is send thugs to destroy projects and signage of Dr. Okoe Boye.”

The incident has been condemned by supporters of Dr Okoe Boye, who argue that the destruction of the signage is a deliberate attempt to sabotage developmental efforts in the area. They accuse Mr Ayiku and the NDC of resorting to thuggery and vandalism as a means to disrupt progress, citing previous instances where similar actions were allegedly taken to obstruct development projects.

Dr Okoe Boye’s efforts to bring development to the constituency have been commended by supporters, who view him as a champion of progress in the area. They highlight his dedication to improving healthcare services and infrastructure as evidence of his commitment to the welfare of the community.

As investigations into the incident continue, residents of Teshie remain divided over the implications of the destruction of the signage. While some see it as a setback for development efforts, others view it as a reflection of the deep-seated political rivalries that continue to plague the constituency.

All attempts by this reporter to get the MP’s side have proven futile as calls to him remain unanswered.
