Mytle Health Donates to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital

In a significant act of support, Mytle Health LLC, a healthcare advocacy group operating in Ghana and the US, on Friday, February 16, 2024, generously made an undisclosed cash donation to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital’s Medical and Therapeutic Department.

This donation will fund mattresses for 62 beds, expanding the hospital’s capacity to transition patients from the Emergency Unit to proper wards more swiftly.

Originally intending to assist families with medical bills, Mytle Health pivoted to address a more pressing need, as identified by the hospital, ensuring ongoing benefits to patient care.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to making a lasting impact on healthcare access,” stated Mr Kojo De-Graft, Founding Partner of Mytle Health LLC, highlighting the profound, recurring benefits of their contribution.

The term “No bed syndrome” emerged in 2018 to describe the critical shortage of beds and mattresses in healthcare facilities across the country, leading to numerous patients being denied necessary care. This dire situation resulted in some patients tragically losing their lives.

Mrs. Augusta Aninakwah Gyimah, the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, gratefully acknowledged the donation received from Mytle Health, recognizing it as timely support for the Medical Block.

Prof. Albert Akpalu, a renowned Neurologist, also thanked Mytle Health LLC for the support.

He acknowledged that the support services will help Korle-Bu deliver its mandate to the public.
